This week we have come up with yet another great list of digital nomad villages for you. For the ones who have no clue about digital nomad villages, please check out our former blog posts.

Digital Nomad Villages are organized communities that support remote workers in their way of life. This is usually a group of people living in a specific area with great co-working spaces, co-living spaces for long-term rent or lease with fast internet connection and greatly activity centred. The idea behind digital nomad villages is to boost the economy of local tourism in that area and also attract digital nomads to that city/ town or island. As mentioned in the previous blogs, the most famous ones are the ones in Madeira located in Ponto Do Sol.

1. Tallinn Digital Nomad Village, Estonia (concept phase)

Estonia is located in Northern Europe, between Russia and Scandinavia. Tallinn is the beautiful capital city of Estonia and also one of the most loved locations for digital nomads. Estonia is known to have a mix of the culture and lifestyle of both Russia and Scandinavia. The people are traditional at the same time welcome digital nomads to be part of their culture and lifestyle. With the coming of digital nomads, the city has become a powerhouse of technology. Everything about the administration is completely digitalized. Tallinn has an old town that comes under the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Estonia was under the Soviet Union until 1940. Post this, they have seen a lot of economical and social changes. Tallinn is known for its medieval architecture and cultural heritage. It is also considered one of the most beautiful cities in Northern Europe. Estonia is also known for its mysticism and paganism in the olden days. So if you are keen on learning about them, Tallinn is where you want to go.

Tallinn is an excellent digital nomad location for various reasons. They are known for their excellent flight connections to Europe and ferries to Scandinavia. They have excellent infrastructure and high quality of life. Also, they do have amazing cafes and co-working spaces.

2. Nomad Village Brazil

Brazil is the first country in South America to offer a digital nomad visa. It doesn’t stop there. They also started the first digital nomad village. Brazil currently has a lot of digital nomads coming in every year. May it be eco-tourism, the sun, and the beach, Brazil has it all.

The Nomad Village Brazil is located at the Pousada Morada dos Ventos. The village is surrounded by tropical vegetation and a lot of animals. It’s very attractively built amidst nature. There are comfy rooms and buildings made to suit digital nomads. One can treat themselves to scrumptious Brazilian cuisine and also explore food in the village of Praia da Pipa. The main streets of Pipa are about a 10-minute walk away. Nomad Village Brazil has a co-working environment that is open, well-shaded, and always has a breeze. Isn’t that the most tropical way to work? The internet speed is greater than 100 MBit. You also get free coffee and water. Pipa is a former "hippie village" in northern Brazil. Tourists from all around the world have visited this tropical spot over the years to enjoy the sun and tranquillity that are rarely available in cities. Today, the digital nomad community of Pipa is predominantly international, with nomads from Argentina, Holland, and other European countries. The village is lively and touristy, with a variety of good restaurants and great stores. There are many adventure spots for adventure enthusiasts as well around the pousada.

3. Trento, Italy

Some years ago, a couple from San Francisco relocated to a charming village near Trento, Italy, wanting to experience something new, like every other digital nomad. While the hiking, skiing, and summers on the lake were all enticing, as were the wonderful schools and gorgeous town nearby, they realized the digital nomad village needed a community. As a result, Trento Distant was born. Digital nomads who are interested are supported in getting housing and coworking spaces here. Trento Remote also conducts get-togethers, and activities, and organizes "adventures" to help remote workers meet other like-minded people. They help you through everything from getting your visa to paying your taxes. They have even resources for helping you learn some Italian! Trento also helps digital nomads find schools for their kids. They have great hang-out options too.

As a digital nomad, you will be working from the heart of the Dolomites. You will be surrounded by mountains, ski resorts, lakes, and trails. There are some of the best rock climbing places as well here. There’s unlimited access to a range of co-working spaces here with high-speed internet connections. If historic buildings fascinate you, then you will find many 15th-century buildings here. Once you make friends with your fellow remote workers, you can find new activities every week! There are hundreds of kilometres of MTB trails, road, and bike excursions, climbing trips for all levels, plus happy hours, visits to world-class vineyards, and more. Trentino is also one of Italy’s great gastronomic regions. Time to awaken the foodie in you!

4. Lagos, Portugal

Lagos in Portugal's Algarve region is one of the emerging digital nomad settlements. It provides coliving and coworking spaces and a Facebook community where you may meet other digital nomads. Lagos is well-known for welcoming a diverse mix of travellers throughout the year. Recently, the city has emerged as one of the most popular destinations for digital nomads and remote workers. The city is well recognized for many reasons, including its magnificent beaches, 300+ days of sunlight every year, and the welcoming nature of the residents. This is why Lagos is becoming more and more one of the key locations for digital nomads and remote workers while visiting Portugal. “Lagos Digital Nomads” was a project that started off as a Facebook group in August 2020.
